But an extensive network of wooden fences are already being erected. They're big and blue (why are they always blue?) You haven't worked it out yet then? |
Surely the wooden fences should be shocking pink with a yellow border... |
Ta for the Newham council walks tip-off, I might have some of that... |
It looked like there were about 20 people on yesterday afternoon's guided walk. But I bet they missed out on some of the more interesting nooks and crannies. |
Interesting to hear about the Waterworks River pathway. I noticed that was open a couple of weeks ago but didn't have time that day to investigate further...I now will. |
I wonder how many final visits I can make before then er, surely, by definition, just the one? |
I'd better get get organised before it's too late. I wonder if anyone else has gone to trouble of documenting this lost landscape before it's all changed? Not to mention all the social history. |
Even the International Olympic Committee have taken notice and are making one last pre-construction visit, today. |
I braved the Waterworks River yesterday, it was like being in Lost with added nettles. Pretty fun though, in a way. Covered in scratches and stings today. |
I went along the Waterworks as well but on Sat 23rd June - started at the greenway end and kept going till we were thwarted by very very tall bushes - had to double back and climb out over the fence that was blocking off a bridge. Nearly got lost in a siding but found an open gate over a bridge opening onto the top of Warton road. Then went up to Waterden road to try and find the cycleway - which has now gone - gutted I didn't go exploring earlier. I'm mourning all those blackberries which will go unpicked. Pics are on flickr under bowbackrivers |
