But an extensive network of wooden fences are already being erected. They're big and blue (why are they always blue?)

You haven't worked it out yet then?

Surely the wooden fences should be shocking pink with a yellow border...

Ta for the Newham council walks tip-off, I might have some of that...

It looked like there were about 20 people on yesterday afternoon's guided walk. But I bet they missed out on some of the more interesting nooks and crannies.

Interesting to hear about the Waterworks River pathway. I noticed that was open a couple of weeks ago but didn't have time that day to investigate further...I now will.

I wonder how many final visits I can make before then

er, surely, by definition, just the one?

I'd better get get organised before it's too late. I wonder if anyone else has gone to trouble of documenting this lost landscape before it's all changed? Not to mention all the social history.

Even the International Olympic Committee have taken notice and are making one last pre-construction visit, today.

I braved the Waterworks River yesterday, it was like being in Lost with added nettles. Pretty fun though, in a way. Covered in scratches and stings today.

I went along the Waterworks as well but on Sat 23rd June - started at the greenway end and kept going till we were thwarted by very very tall bushes - had to double back and climb out over the fence that was blocking off a bridge. Nearly got lost in a siding but found an open gate over a bridge opening onto the top of Warton road. Then went up to Waterden road to try and find the cycleway - which has now gone - gutted I didn't go exploring earlier. I'm mourning all those blackberries which will go unpicked.
