If the café is full - and if I recall correctly - there's a nice pub at Isfield, called The Laughing Fish, which serves good food

The Lavender is my favourite local preserved railway. It is a very refreshing break from the slick professionalism on display down the road/line at the Bluebell. I'd recommend a return visit on a special running day later the year.

Ah Uckfield, it is an odd gap. In my commuting days if I ended up there it meant I had gone to sleep and missed my stop.
