A lot of boroughs to hit in one day. Hope you're okay.
I like the transformation of North Acton, nice tall buildings
Looks like the challenge was to manage to do them all in alphabetical order.

Quite some day. And yes, the Thames seems very high at the moment, Strand on the Green was totally under water the other day, admittedly at high tide.
Seem to recall those photographic images of tennis crowds appearing at Wimbledon Station when I was commuting from there in the late 1990s. The artist is Bruce Williams. His public art work is found in many town and include 'The Kiss Wall' in Brighton.

ComicCon was on all weekend, hence I suspect the dressing up at Southwark.

Edgware also has a crossed ‘W’ 😝
I lived in Willesden Green for a month and a half when I first moved to London, and I had no idea that the Crown Pub on Cricklewood Broadway was across the border in Barnet. I just assumed it was in Brent. Thanks for the Geography lesson.

On the Hammersmith and Richmond borough news, tides were high this weekend. I remember on Thursday watching a motor boat gingerly and finely make it's way during high tide under Hammersmith Bridge, just enough room for it to sneak under. A crowd had stopped to watch. And yes, I doubt said bridge will be open to motor traffic anytime soon. I am enjoying the addition of the "barge" and associated vessels guarding it to spice up the river traffic.
If you want some waterproof shoes go to Clarks and get a pair with a Gore-Tex liner. Well made and will last for years. More than 50-60mm you will get wet feet though.
Greg- The Crown on Cricklewood Broadway is in the borough of Camden; Barnet starts on the north side of Cricklewood Lane.

When I moved to Southfields in 2009/10 there were no chains at all save a Wetherspoons that later became a Tesco. Around eleven years ago the chains started arriving. We now have Cafe Nero, Costa, Sainsbury's, M&S, Tesco, Franca Manca and Gail's. Now that the transient beautiful ones are shopping here, it goes without saying that the price of fish and chips will skyrocket.
Boro also appears on a tube roundel.
This post helped me remember 4 stations I'd missed in that game we're all playing. Thanks
I stand corrected. Sorry.
Hackney - should anyone make the trip to the Happening Bagel Bakery, I can heartily recommend their challah bread.
Initially I misread the Lewisham entry and thought the Job Centre has been rebranded as a 'Job Circus'.
I have fond memories of the H.B.B. (as no-one calls it) as a late-night option from when I lived on Blackstock Road.
Brent - in other words, the system not working properly has become normalised.
I can confirm your ommission of Hillingdon was wise. Nothing happening here except a council sulking about ULEZ. Ironically we currently have the spectacle of motorists hooting at each other at several sets of utility roadworks.

At least we had trains this weekend. A recent closure of the Uxbridge branch had no rail replacement buses, just a suggestion to use two Superloop routes which demonstrated that that while they may be limited stop they ain't fast.
Wow, that was some use of the extra hour! I don’t wonder you didn’t make it to this borough.😉
The main difference between Happening Bagel and the Brick Lane ones is that Happening slightly undercooks theirs. They say their customers like this, as you can buy half a dozen and have them be right as rain the next morning. Whereas the more cooked ones from Brick Lane are like a good baguette - lovely on the day, pretty horrible the next.
Great Northern Electrics! Wonder how old that sign is!
I was trying to list, from memory alone, which boroughs you hadn't been to. Almost did it, but I forgot Bexley.

I don't think I've ever been to Bexley.
It rained in my borough yesterday. I can see why you didn't come all the way out here just to tell us that!
Leicester is another Championship Football Club who's short name appears on a tube roundel.

dg writes: added, thanks.
Chz, I have discovered that Brick Lane beigels can be rescued the next day by popping them into the microwave a few seconds. Turns them from the consistency of a brick back into a chewable form.
Geofftech is correct about ComicCon - we passed through Custom House and there was much finery on display!
About half the boroughs grabbed your attention.

West and south London beat north and east.
We’ve had traffic chaos in South Acton/Chiswick this week with tube engineering works needing replacement buses which were getting snarled up in diverted traffic caused by road works closures in awkward places, with both organisations choosing to do their work over half term. The new cycle lanes haven’t helped, with local bloggers daggers drawn about them for months. ‘The cycle lanes are holding up traffic’ ‘Good, that’s the idea’ ‘Encourages modal shift’ ‘Increases pollution’ ‘Moves us towards net zero’ ‘Cyclists still ride on the pavement’

The proliferation of tower blocks in North Acton was encouraged by the promise of ‘frequent Crossrail services to Heathrow, the City and Canary Wharf’ from a new Acton Main Line Station. Trouble is, the new Elizabeth Line service from Acton Main Line is nothing like as frequent as people expected and is susceptible to being cancelled.
A smidgeon of Islington here, obv.
