No, not the comedian Eric Sykes, nor the cricketer, nor the knife-inventor. And his brother was called Friend, not a pseudonym. Well, according to the website which you cite.

Buckinghamshire is a very featurefull county, and this is an interesting corner of it. My earliest encounter was with the Barts half-inch map called Herts and Bucks, a frequent requirement on car trips from north London.
Friend Sykes? The family were possibly Quakers, Bucks being Quaker HQ.
I found his bluff and engaging account of "Farming for Profit on a 750-Acre Farm in Wiltshire with Organic Manures as the Sole Medium of Refertilization" online.
Is proximity to Slough in any way a reliable indicator of the number of Indian takeaways? Reads like odd racial stereotyping.
And some M&WWLBs, including me, were there yesterday, arriving by, and then admiring in that turning circle, various ancient and less ancient buses, thanks to the Windsor bus running day.

That bus stop features visitor bus routes to Slough, Uxbridge, and a fourth location I can’t remember, as well as West Ruislip. It’s a commendable network for such an out-of-town location.

7 Bond Close looks decidedly un 007. Or at least it did back in 2015. Also it seems there was no premium for the house number when the development was built.
They may call themselves The Ivers Parish Council but the official name of the parish is Iver Civil Parish. :-)
"Iver been so you don't have to."
Why are you so keen on dissuading us to go exploring in your footsteps?
You alluded to it at the end but Black Park is by far the best place to visit in the area, which is otherwise dull and oddly lifeless.

The Pinewood buses are a condition of planning approval as a means of offering employment to those who can’t drive to work. Extensive though they are, sadly they’re private-only so regular people can’t use them as a way of accessing the area.
Not overly far from me, but a completely different world!!
In the 1970s, Iver was a Holy Grail site for diggers of antique bottles. (Except the diggers found stuff!)
If you ever get a chance to go inside Pinewood Studios take it. I had to go there a number of times over the years, even as far back as when the old gatehouse was still the main entrance. It's a different world with a lot of history. The main "mansion" office building is art deco and has a great wood panelled staircase with photos on the walls of stars who worked there from the 30s through the 50s and 60s to more recent times. Alas the only photo I can find is this taken out of the window on the first floor.
I spent the first 4 years of my life living in Old Slade Lane, Iver. Learnt more today than the last 60 odd years. Thank you.
About 25 years ago Pinewood had a public open day (or two). They have never repeated it, as far as I know.
It was a superb experience, as almost everywhere (including the pre most recent fire, 007 studio) was open.

You can get through the gates though, as the screening cinema is used as a public cinema at the weekends. It's an interesting experience and if the film was made at Pinewood you sometimes get additional material.
You can't wander about, as the cinema is only a few yards inside the gate.
