Definitely scone.
Christmas pudding: best fried
I agree with virtually all these. Just shows how well your parents taught you.
78/100
The only one I strongly disagree with is Hats.

When you're 1000 feet up in the Dales with a spaniel to walk in mid winter, a hat is a necessity not an affectation. Woolly or fleece lined, certainly, bobble optional, ear flaps preferable.
Agree with 36% of those. For a lot of them quite strongly.
My, my, you are becoming rather more openly opinionated of late. Frustration at the way the world is going?
My own align with the majority. Notable exceptions being scone, cricket and dogs.
And I don't mean maybe!
Oh dear. No surprise though.
93% compatible.

Part of me thinks "this would be a good way to run a dating app" and part of me thinks "this would be a good way to run a dating app if you want to encourage couples who think like each other", which is a topic for another day.
... Agreed ... except for Pyjamas :-)
I agree except for cricket
79. Of the rest, many minor disagreements and two significant ones.
I agree with most of your views. Some differences of opinion (but that's fine: The world would be dull if we all agreed on everything):

AI: Over Hyped. (Just like Blockchain was before it)
Hats: Necessity for those without natural head protection. See Also: Sun Screen.
Marvel Cinematic Universe: Milking the people who can't see that the films are absolute shite designed to part idiots from their money.
Life elsewhere in the universe: Dead cert it exists. Will we ever find are proof of it? Unlikely under our current understanding of the laws of physics.
Podcasts: Disagree. There are some good podcasts out there. Signals to Danger, Numberphile, Life Scientific are my top three.
Strongly agree with most - disagree with a small number (cricket, football, hats and podcasts) but can also u seat and why someone would have that view!

Did you used to be more of a football fan; I recall some of your earlier blogs having the occasional football slant of a supporter (Arsenal?).
Agree with many-olives on pizza great, and love dogs and cats equally. Not a fan of sport myself.
Should still apologise for slavery, I know we didn't do it but it's a wrong, and we have to acknowledge that.
Scone as in 'BBC One', it's not 'BBC Woan'
Have flown first class once, got to be done. Business and or economy otherwise (don't really fit in economy seats, not obese but they are really just too small)
Agree on religion, what's the point really? But people should be allowed to follow religions.
I'm an ambivert, most of us are mixtures of extravert and introvert, we tend to have strong biases to both sides on particular subjects/interests etc but many of us need a bit of quiet/reflection, and a bit of hustle and bustle.
Not sure on the monarchy, surely...

dg interrupts: See number 48
Good to see bolx making a comeback.
Solid list, I think we’d all get along around here. Personal quibbles on musicals, cats, dogs, barbecues, the ‘s word’ that shall not be mentioned and pints of custard.
Disagree with mobile and brexit
I HATE auto play videos.

The century is not even a quarter in and it's far too early to declare Brexit as the stupidest (I actually challenge the stupidity itself but it's much more complicated)
With you nearly all the way....then abruptly part company when it comes to food and drink. But I don't come here for your food reviews.
HS2 should end up like Spain where increased capacity has led to low fares, except we're spending a lot more on this than the Spanish do.
Proportional representation does work (even with the Westminster system), and is bloody good. Would never go back.
How can someone so right, be so wrong about dates. There is only one format.
I'm with DGD. Good job, Sir!
Regarding the last one, so you are only tolerant of others opinions when you agree with them? I think you have a different opinion on what tolerance means.
Agree with all of these except:
Cricket (wonderful sport); Pizza (olives should be compulsory); Water(bought by me when I forget to pack my own before a long walk); Proportional Representation (works in Australia and previous Mayoral elections in UK); Custard (what are you talking about?)
disagree on hats, essential with these heat waves.

Plus may I add to Language - “daily basis” , it’s just daily please
Wonderful!
Hats: essential when too cold, ineffective when too hot, harmless when decorative.
Opinions: Good unless harmful.
Whole olives on pizza are bad, but diced or tapenade are good.
Commercial radio is ok if you have a quick move to something better, like Classic<>R3 or Kisstory<>R1.
Johnson: History books are too late.
Modern music: No, I love large portions of it. I recommend Above and Beyond Acoustic as an entry point.
Patriotism: Usually ensures we're worse than everyone else.
Dates: The month is between the year and day, order not specified.
HS2: It'll be affordable as full price current tickets, which you avoid in favour of limited deals.
Midnight: I'll 'need' to hear more on that.

I make that 95 + 1/2 + 1/2 + 1/2, and oversharing,
Hats - can I take it that you still have your own hair?

Milk - correct if using a teabag in a cup, but goes in first if you're using a teapot
It is 9.22am and now I really want a pint of custard.
I measured your 100 opinions on a 100 point scale of alignment to mine, and am 85.3% aligned to you.

Only 5 where I disagree enough that I'd bother to argue the reverse if in a pub chat:
- Cricket - snooker is worse
- Green Belt - mixed neighbourhoods are more sustainable
- Hats - try Sweden in the winter without one
- Musicals - Operation Mincemeat is my new favourite
- Pyjamas - personal preference
93% But custard, food of the devil.
Yes, those are certainly all opinions
With age, a wide-brimmed hat becomes necessary as sun-protection for the ears. Increasing use of such hats will correlate with the advance of climate change.
Speaking as a Londoner in exile 70 miles west, I've come round to the view that tickets with Aztec/QR codes (not ones on a card or that require a link to a app on your a phone) are pretty great, in almost all regards. I'd probably after they should not be compulsory, but as an option I often find that they can be the most convenient one. It's just annoying that some of the railways in the London area are much less geared up for them than those elsewhere.
Probably a 90%-ish alignment, but the only thing I'd have the force of opinion to argue about is Sir Keir. Replacing a Tory government with a Tory government is not progress. His stance on the two child benefit cap - proven even by Conservative research to achieve nothing but make children in poverty suffer more - is the last straw for my vote. If Labour can't stand up for poor children, what bloody good are they?

That and maybe Elf. :)
Knowing how well documented your life is, presumably you have a similar list from 5,10,15 years ago? The really interesting question is what on this list has changed over a life time? And what caused that change? Or would the 20yo DG have an identical list?
I could add “presumably?” to number 48.
I'm with you on about 95%, but I understand most of the rest and could (in different circumstances) probably agree.

Only one you're patently wrong about is cricket. Obviously.
Waterproof hats should be a compulsory replacement for umbrellas, use of which should be a prison-able offence.

Brexit this century ranks with Beeching last century, but this time the politicians can say it was our fault.
We are aligned on 91 of these especially the custard.
‘Not the spawn of Satan’ is the nicest thing anyone’s said to me today.
Beer>Custard, though.
Oasis or Blur? Neither - the music was better first time around in the 1960s.
78% aligned. Sometimes on the things that matter most.
Hats: stop us baldies burning our scalps, less messy than sunblock.
The Met Police: nice mixed metaphor!
Seems your readers are pretty much on the same wavelength as yourself as indeed am I, apart from custard and cricket and one or two others to which I am indifferent.
I can only apologise for something that I was involved in. Anything else is fauning bolx, and has no real value.
I would say aligned on the more impactful areas (personal and societal)

Income tax: a bit conflicted on this one. Governance of spend/Effectiveness of spend/government expanding to the money available are challenges. Spending increases in line with demographic need and future prosperity (pensions, health, education): sure. Manifesto driven hypothecation of all central government revenue maybe the answer.

Also not for single round FPTP for voting. Runoffs or single transferable rather than full PR, although maybe more PR for local elections.
Didn't bother counting, but probably 90 or so % compatible.

The podcasts being advertised ad nauseam are the ones by egotists who nobody would otherwise listen to (why else advertise?). There are some pretty good ones out there.

Haven't watched a single MCU movie since Endgame. Kudos to them though for figuring out how to milk the most money out of it by heavily encouraging you to watch every single movie so you understand what happens when there are tie-ins and ensemble movies.

Judging by the amount of airlines scrapping first, I'm inclined to believe that business class passengers are mostly subsidising the rest of us nowadays.

About Starmer, absolutely, and see this article.

I always have auto-play off to be in control of what I watch next.

ULEZ is just like LTNs: lots of noise but once implemented, people will realise it isn't 'woke' urban planning (+ most people won't even be affected by it).

I use cash when travelling abroad most of the time because of exchange fees.
Agree with the majority. May I add...

Phones - never on speakers on public transport.
Never risk a number 48!
I agree…

With twenty three of your views.
Mostly tend to agree, but...

Blur or Oasis: I've come to realise it's Pulp.

Abortion: Basic human right maybe, but never to be approached lightly. Both extremes need to respect the opposing view more.
Disagree with you on:
- modern music (some great stuff and as varied as in any other era)
- coffee (a cappuccino or latte can be a great small luxury)
- the seasons (really depends on the country but the British spring can be horrible)
- jam or cream first (depending on the kind of cream, it can matter greatly)
- cats or dogs (cats, natch)
- midnight (never worth staying up for)

So 94% compatibility
Apart from Benjamin Waterhouse this seems to be a classic case of people only talking, reading, listening to people that have the same views as us. That said on the trivial things I mainly agree with you - on the most fundamental issue ie God I disagree
94. Wow
99% agree. It’s just hats that separate us. Then again, I am balder than you.
I agree with 99 of these.
The problem with HS2 is not its existence but the fact it barely covers any distance within the country. Looking at a map of Britain it's quite clear how short it will be. Even the extension to Leeds probably won't happen.
Would never have expected Above Beyond Acoustic to be mentioned on here - made my day
income tax - if we are thinking about wealth inequality and the like, then capital taxation and tax havens would be more relevant.
Pretty much all - Hats, Olives, Custard
Can I just say "bravo" to Andrew S, the answer was always Pulp. I'm pleased to have finally found someone who agrees with me!
Is took me a couple of decades but I can also report that the correct answer to Oasis or Blur? is in fact Pulp.
With you on 96, the exceptions being hats, modern music, coffee and custard. (I’m even with you on podcasts, and I run a podcast.)
