Unless I want to comment or look in detail at a photo, I read most blog posts in my independent and paid for rss feed. I've always been curious as to whether the rss feed registers as a blog visit.

dg writes: It does not.
One of the highlights of my day since 2012. Thanks DG
Congrats DG, another million visits is damn impressive in a little over a year!
Look forward to my daily read.. Congratulations and thank you DG
First "click" of the morning once the tea has brewed. Keep up the good work - but only for as long as you want to. It's your blog and you're the boss.
Read the blog every morning on the commute in after a quick scan of the Metro and BBC News

Keep up the good work!
Well done,DG, eight million! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I've been clicking on here since 2013 and found your posts a varied and interesting way of accompanying my first cup of builders each morning.
How did I find you? There used to be a link on Christopher Fowler's blogsite. I see you still have a link to him. I have occasionally tried other sites but your two are the ones that are on my homepage ( I think that's what it's called?)
I'm also looking forward to reading about your Paris excursion. Yes, I follow on twitter too. Oh,I've just realised,I sound like a stalker. 😅
That's very impressive - and truly deserved. In contrast, I'm edging towards my first half million, which I hope to reach some time in this, my tenth, year.

Well done dg, I don't know how you keep it up. And thank you.
You can't control other people's internet activities, and the sheer volume of people on Facebook means you're on it, even if your not on it.
I've been reading this, usually daily, for about 15 years. Good work indeed!
I’m one of your followers on Twitter, and look forward to you popping up in my Twitter feed for a long time to come.

My bus stopped at your bus stop M yesterday, and it was like greeting an old friend...
Many congratulations!

You are part of my morning routine too. One of the few from a long list of bookmarks that gets clicked everyday.
My day wouldn’t be the same without checking what DG has to say today. I started reading when my daughter was a student at Queen Mary in about 2004 and you’ve become a pleasant habit. Well done and thank you.
Congrats DG on 8 mill !

I would suggest that Arseblog is still 'massive' on account of his very similar blogging approach - daily and excellent.

dg writes: Absolutely, but ditched his blogroll over a decade ago, so is no longer a significant driver of (any) traffic here.
Just think it's quality rather than quantity that counts in terms of the readership. But quality and quantity is rather nice too.
I'd have thought Ian Visits would have been on your list of refers. Or could it be that people who read DG tend to read Ian's blog too so don't actually refer?

dg writes: Ian's at #13.
You, or an icon representing the blog, is dead centre in the selection of 'websites' I regularly visit according to my web browser. I don't need a bookmark anymore!
Congratulations DG.
DG is now firmly part of my morning routine. Reading this blog feels like a breath of sensibility in a world going increasingly mad, even when we do get update after update on Bus Stop M! (J/k I actually love those)

Congrats on 8 million!
Well done passing another milestone, DG. I'm here for my daily visit, alas too late to be the actual eight millionth visitor.

Can you estimate when you are likely to hit further milestones, particularly 10,000,000?

dg writes: Feel free to look at the table and do the maths yourself.
Congratulations on 8 million.
I know I send you a visitor or two every day (it's me, I use my site mostly as on-line bookmarks).

Any big plans for 10 million?
Congratulations … and thank you!
On my Facebook page I posted your 3rd April photo of Spurs’ new stadium looming over Tottenham High Road, with your blog address as the photo credit.
Can't wait for the 10 million milestone and the competition for 10 lucky readers to meet DG in person at the pub/bus stop M.
I echo the other commenters' congratulations and thanks. I tend not to read your posts at the weekend... but then I get a triple helping on Monday morning!
Congratulations indeed.

I'm interested to know who it is who clicks in that much from my blog because it's not me! (I just type 'di' into the browser bar and it comes up top)

And I now know why I already have 3 sales emails this morning, two offering web design/redesign services (*sniggers*). Well, I can't blame them for trying, but, like you, I will never, ever, ever buy from marketing emails to my blog.
Essential reading for me every day. Like any blog, some posts I linger on, others I don't. You provide a vertable pot pourri of items.

I am a member of a few international forums and I know you have followers from abroad who have never been to London -- but when they do come here they are heading for Bus Stop M -- which is astonishing when you thing about it!

Thank you for all your efforts.
Congratulations DG
I sometimes go to BW blog from yours
Well done on the 8m. I’d settle for 8 most days :)
8m!!! Many congratulations, from one who has been with you since you were a mere youngster with just 1m!!

As for people coming via Facebook - I sometimes link to your posts on my wall, and I'm sure I'm not the only one, so that might be how they are finding you from over there.
I can't remember how long ago I caught this daily habit, probably having clicked over from Ian or London Reconnections. It's the most consistently high quality blog I have come across, and remarkably so for lasting over such a long period of time. Sometimes I want more, and there is a seemingly limitless back catalogue to be had. You only have to try links in the older posts to find how fleetingly impermanent the Web can be. And it's a funny to see how it took nearly a month for the first comment to appear at the beginning.

Congratulations - it's phenomenal.
You're an inspiration to me and my better half DG. We've been all over London town doing things mentioned on your blog and regularly enjoy a morning cuppa discussing your latest publication. Keep up the amazing work!
I found your blog by accident while googling for information on rivers in SE London - your blog about the River Beck appeared in the list. I read you most days, congrats on achieving 8 million readers!
There is a ‘diamond geezer blog fans’ page on Facebook which reposts and links to everything on here. Very useful prompt if I’ve forgotten to visit already.
Sheesh.

"A Fan page for the Diamond Geezer blog. Simply updated when he posts a new entry. Not affiliated with DG.

Diamond Geezer publishes a blog every day at 9am, this is another way to access those posts. No official connection."

If the Facebook user responsible for cutting and pasting my posts (really badly) is reading, please cease and desist.
Congratulations, DG!

I first came to your blog via a link from a now-defunct photo site, and have stayed with it for about 12 years. Last year I went back to the beginning and read the lot. It took weeks, but I may do it again some time - the quality and variety of the writing make it worth the time. I haven't been to London for over 20 years, and will never be there again, but it's still a fascinating read.
Unlike other readers it seems, I always read your blog last, since I've always saved the best until last, and it always gives me something good to take away.
Many thanks for all your work.
Nedd
DG, I was first attracted to your blog by a Facebook post of one of your London UndergrounD columns. That was years and years ago... and I'm still here learning about " hidden London". Born and raised in the USA I've visited London a little over a dozen times (and at my advanced age will never be there again...except when I daily read your blog). Thank you for many happy hours.
Many congratulations DG.

One of my daily "must reads".

Always interesting; usually brilliant; and often inspiring a visit to where you've been.
8,002,000 ...and counting.
Congratulations. This is possibly the first website I visit every day. I have recommended it to friends and colleagues and they are avid readers too

You will never get a complaint from me!
Congrtulations DG, and long may the blog continue - it's by far my favourite blog out of the several dozen I still follow on my RSS reader, and the one I click through to read the most.

Do any RSS readers figure anywhere in the referral list? And what about Google search links?
