Lovely stuff. Thanks again, DG.
Amen to that. Anyone wishing to extend the walk at the northern end can do so by continuing onto the Chiltern Link, which joins the Chess Walley Walk at Chesham to the Ridgeway at Wendover. Now that is proper unspoiled Chilterns country and the two walks combined make for a fabulous day out.
You didn't mention the Neptune Waterfall, by Latimer House - do you know if it's still there? (I can't remember if you can see it from the main walk, or if you have to detour) I seem to remember the statue fell from the top, and is now halfway down the 'steps' or at the bottom; keep meaning to go and have a look for it.
Is called or isn't called? (Fourth paragraph.)

dg concurs: isn't (thanks)
This and yesterday's post takes me back to my childhood, cycling from Ruislip up Old Ducks Rd, past Mt Veron Hospital, to go fishing here Croxley.
Thanks DG really looking forward to doing this walk myself now. With so much to explore round and about, according to the map, I'm tempted to do it in 2, or possibly 3 sections instead.
DG, was it watercress flavoured ice-cream?
I was thinking "watercress-flavoured ice-cream" too :)
I've only spotted the existence of the Neptune Waterfall after I got home, it's not obvious from the walk.

And it was Beechdean honey and ginger ice cream, thanks. No watercress flavour is available.
The River Misbourne in neighbouring Amersham makes a nice walk as well, from Missenden to Amersham.
