There's also statues of Christopher Columbus and Simón Bolívar (as well as Henry the Navigator) on the other corners of Belgrave Square.

dg writes: Indeed there are.

Just back from San Martín's statue, on the corner of Wilton Crescent stands a statue of Robert Grosvenor. There's an inscription saying "197 miles to Chester", Chester being the location of the 10,000 acre country estate of the Duke of Westminster. The estate is adjacent to the villages of Eccleston and Belgrave.
I've been lucky enough to perform in the Royal Albert Hall a few times and have always found the backstage area utterly confusing. Knowing that the dressing rooms extend under those steps helps to make sense of things, if only slightly.
Design note.
We're enjoying the understated horizontal shadow bars and small red caps combo v. much.

Your noting of the crossing of borough boundaries is revealing - how many people realise that the Royal Albert Hall and most of Imperial College, not to mention Kensington Gore and Kensington Gardens, are not actually in Kensington at all?
As a tourist, I tried to buy myself a few shirts in Harrods, but their standard pricetags start from £150, often getting into the range of £300-something. And the most intriguing part is that those who *do* afford these goods look similar to me, but speak a language that I dislike (because the next generation in my city is being forced to speak that language)

In fact the part of South Kensington in Westminster seems to have always been in Westminster; looking at old parish maps it was in a detached part of the parish of Westminster St Mary known as the "Hamlet of Knightsbridge".
Lovely! Broken link for the “far end” of High Street Kensington station – I guess the missing domain is for Flickr, so linking to https://www.flickr.com/photos/timeaster/15400855104/
