And when there is a rail strike, the furthest place in London from a Tube or DLR station is?

I prefer kilometres.
Depending on the type of strike, NR trains via Amersham often don’t run (this is when the LU signallers are striking). This would increase the distance to the nearest NR station for those stations from Rickmansworth northwards.

I think the answer is Chessington South, 6.6 miles from Wimbledon. (Chelsfield is about 5 miles from the tram stop at New Addington)
Looking at the map really highlights how far away Epping and Theydon Bois are from any other rail line into London. NE London/SW Essex is very empty when compared to other areas within the M25.
I had thought Hammersmith might feature, but then opening up a map, realised I had forgotten completely about Kensington Olympia. I bet that happens a lot to that station - people just forgetting it exists.
I suspect the level of car ownership at the Essex end of the Central line is higher, so many would have the alternative of driving to a rail station (and parking), lessoning the impact time-wise (although not financially)

Maybe also at the extremities in North London
Yay for the Superloop then, ....err unless you live at the eastern end of the Central Line, that is!
The paucity of bus services once you cross the Greater London boundary into Essex is striking.
Isn't South Ken closer to the Overground at West Brompton than to Victoria?
Nick - yes, it is - still just over a mile though
Assuming dg is expecting us to walk to the alternative stations, I think West Brompton is closer for South Ken while Shepherds Bush is closer than Paddington for Notting Hill Gate.
Pretty tough on Uxbridge: at one time there were two train alternatives to London, with lines to the north to Marylebone and to the south to Paddington.
I make Epping 5.9 miles to Cheshunt as the crow flies
5.952, so basically 6
Miles - Driving to an NR station and parking? Some hope!
