Presumably the Tower Hill thing is TfL declaring it fully step free, then users going "erm, no it isn't"?
Numerous chances to ride a D stock train on the District line today.

Sitting on an S stock train and the line diagrams don't show Tower Hill as being accessible at all. The tube maps on the train have a blue disabled for tho.
apropos nothing much there's a bus running the 38 today in what looks like London Country livery (greeen/gold). Think it was a New Bus for London but can't swear it wasn't an Routemaster.
@David
It is a Borismaster (aka NBfL, aka New Routemaster). No LT2 (LTZ1002, originally LT61 BHT)

It has always been in green, but has spent much of its life to date (five years - have they really been around that long?) on promotional work outside London.

The tube map is getting more and more like Fido's Repast and those wheelchair blobs are just ugly. Surely with all of the cartographic geniuses who would jump at the opportunity - they could come up with something better and worthy of the heritage.
I used to like the D-Stock, but even when I was fully ablebodied I struggled to get on trains to the west of Hammersmith, because it meant a very high step up and few grabrails (2 per carriage, one each side). Now I hope there'll be improvements to the Bakerloo trains, again very few grabrails and I don't use the line enough to be able to predict where I should stand to get the right door.
Exactly how new is this Tube map? The date at the bottom says March 2017, but there's still a dagger beside Edgware which should have finished by last month.

On another note, the zone 5 label that should be next to the Dagenham stations has gone walkabout off the edge of the map. Probably for the best they haven't printed it yet, given last year's Morden débâcle.
It appears TfL's long term goal is to transform the tube map into the London Connections map, but printed on one-sixth the size.
Interesting post.
I also wondered What percentage of Zone 1 is step-free?
