Please define 'hit singles'. I thought it might be top 50, so I suggested one that reached number 49 (Buster). Madison, above, has an even better suggestion; my reference book (Guinness Hit Singles) shows 3 versions of Never on a Sunday that reached the top 30 and two further versions in the top 50. All in 1960.

My list was "Top 40 singles from the last 50 years". The general public weren't generally made aware of any positions below 40... and chopping off the list mid-Sixties avoided having four different versions of 'Never on Sunday'.
