I remember blackberrying as a kid when it was a bit nippy out, but it seems the last few years I've been able to collect them from early August onwards.

brilliantly beautiful!

Love it. Thanks for brightening my morning.

I agree with Marc, I've been Blackberring for many weeks already and the season seems to be over now.
As for central heating mine has been cutting in occasionally at night for the past few days. I keep my home temperature inside at 26c and dislike the winter intensely.
I also have high intensity daylight colour temperature lighting.
This winter I hope to go to south and be in their summer.
I generally only watch old cinema films or the London news on television, so any new winter schedule programmes do not affect me.
I have no tattoo's to conceal.
I would ban fireworks, unnecessary smoke pollution.-Use an electric display.(Blackpool has its lights).
It is nice not to have to water plants but the grass is growing again so back to mowing for a few more weeks.
Hope your colds better!

Shouldn't that have been 52 lines - or am I looking for more symbolism than you intended?

You lucky b*st*rds ... It's still 36 degrees in the shade every day here, and 100% humidity. The only bit of relief we might get is if Typhoon Malou decides to swing our way, and on balance that's probably not the preferred option. Give me the British autumn any day (especially as poetically visualized by DG)!

Ooh! Purdy!

Glad for the accessibility tip...as my eyes were screaming and I saw the word conkers...which are an obsession of mine.

The old wives' tale regarding conkers warding off spiders works...although you do have to use fresh ones each year as whatever they release fades over time. Conker fact! Yeah.

Hope it is not porridge, soup and cocoa in one sitting?

Oh god, I'm even more homesick than usual now! I want to be in London!!

Wish I'd seen the accessibility hint before I'd strained my way through it all though!!

Love the Soul II Soul nod in the last three lines.

Very nice DG, love the colour spectrum and all that lies within.

Porridge morning, soup lunchtime, cocoa bedtime. Lovely, my kind of day.

Lovely.

What I like best of all, are those lingering summer-like days that pop up between now and November, reminding you of what it is you're going to be missing until April (March if you're lucky)...
