I can see the pool being very busy. I mean who wouldn't want to be able to say that they have swum in the Olympic pool.

I'm also intrested in going up the Orbit as long as it is not too expensive. I'm a sucker for a view from a tall building. I would like to do the view from the Shard but there is no way I'm going to pay £25 for the pleasure.
According to the QEOP website "More than a million visitors have already enjoyed the Park since we began to open in July 2013, including concerts and the Sainsbury’s Anniversary Games.". I wonder how many have used the park since the end of September. When I am there it is always empty even on dry days at the weekend. At the moment QEOP North seems to be too much an effort to visit for the shoppers of Westfield. Will they flock to QEOP South when there is easy access and better weather?
This is what the Olympics were about. I'm pleased politicians kept to their promises and provided world class facilities to London with just the briefest of pauses for reconstruction. I hope the management of the Aquatic Centre keep it to scratch. I recently visited my local pool in Beckenham which is run by MyTime Active. It won plaudits from architecture bodies when it opened in 2000 for creating a bright, open space in which to swim. A shame then that the facility is now let down by dirty floors, a grubby locker room, filthy and broken loos and furry air conditioning ducts above the showers that don't look like they've been swept in years.
People will come. At the moment it's an effort to get there but with more entrances, less construction work and the abundance of new properties (including flats without outside space) people will visit. These things take time. After all the Olympic suburbs are a 25 year construction scene if I remember righty.
I'm still not entirely sure how to get to QEOP North from Westfield or indeed anywhere in the Stratford area, but I'd love to visit. The 'getting to' page on the park website could be vastly improved by displaying a map, and there could be much better signage from key locations nearby. It's probably obvious for those who live locally, but I must confess I'm one of those who hadn't even heard of the area ten years ago, and I have quite a poor grasp of the geography surrounding the air conditioned bubble that is the shopping centre.
"so that West Ham can host Championship football here in three seasons time"

Cheeky!
"so that West Ham can host Championship football here in three seasons time"

... optimistic??
Another plea for some maps. I'm finding it hard to visualise where the newly open parts are and how to get to and between them. I guess all will become clear nearer the date and this will get updated.

I think it's a DG typo. What he meant to say was:

"so that West Ham can host Champions League football here in three seasons time"
I was so glad I went to the Olympics, such a wonderful day in a truly beautiful park. I saw some pictures of the Landscaping for the Southern Park, and I am quite hopeful about how lovely it will look.

If they can pull of a proper Victoria & Albert Museum outpost and University district then the whole park district could be buzzing all day long.

Instead of a quiet park surrounded by flats maybe will end up with Hyde Park East and Stratford will be part of Central London. It might happen!
The ticketing website for the Velodrome is possibly more infuriating than the Olympic ticketing website. Chapeau, QuayTickets, chapeau.

Still though, I've fought it and will be back there for its first session after the Paras. I was lucky enough to get in there for the first and last session during the Olympics. I hope they still use the Chemical Brothers to warm the crowd up.

(Also, the seats available are considerably worse than the ones that were available in November when I first thought about going, though I'm not sure why this is a surprise to me.)
Sure it'll be Premier League Football in the Stadium. COYI
Ryman Premier?
I thought I would try and buy a ticket to see the cycling at the velodrome. However it would seem I am not welcome on my own as they won't sell me a single ticket!
