Ah, the joys of a warm autumn day. For those interested in nighttime activities, every month there is a monthly star meet held by the Baker Street Astronomers, where members of the public can peer up at the heavens through telescopes. It is held on the mound at the Hub - must be because that's the closest bit to the skies...
What a delightful way to spend an autumn day, will pop over this weekend though I expect it may be rather busier!
That just set me up for the day!
Thanks DG
I'm soon off with my partner on the hourly bus to Winchester for my birthday lunch at River Cottage in the old mill at the back of Abbey Gardens.
Should be a lovely day.
Here's wishing all readers a good day.
Lovely!
It's a great time of year to be in London. The harsh silver of high summer has been replaced with a much gentler golden light whilst still managing bursts of real warmth.
While it is impressive that they keep some roses blooming now, it's even more impressive that St Paul's churchyard usually has some blooming in December. This may be true for the garden in Regent's Park as well, but I've never bothered to go there in December to find out.
For a year in the early 80's I would park my car at Primrose Hill and walk across the park on my way to work in Marylebone. It was a real joy to experience the early morning quiet in the park and see a few regulars walking their dogs etc.
Then you could see the wolves in the zoo keeping an eye on passers by.
