Wow..not seen that place since the late '70s. I used to ride the lift and pass through Page High on my way home from school, when it was first occupied.
To my eternal shame, the diversion was entirely due to the number of unguarded milk bottles on doorsteps! I knew better, but I was young and easily misled.
After ten years of faithful reading of this blog, it seems I came so very close to being in the presence of DG yesterday at this fascinating development.
But alas - as the lower sun angle hinted and the Flickr image metadata confirmed, DG was on the later tour, while I was on the earlier one.
Think we took almost identical photos though, including the original wayfinding signage.
I'm really hoping to get to see Sky City - above The Mall - one day; as you know, the Page High gang were not fans, though they'd clearly visited it.
What a lovely community feel this place has about it.

This proves what I'm always saying to those that oppose the building of council homes in their area that it'll being in the 'wrong sort.'

Build appealing homes of a high standard and the residents will take pride in them. Why are council tenants any less deserving of nice homes than someone else.
Wow.
Why was it ‘never touched’ by right to buy?
My Open House highlight last year, despite the rain. Looks even better in the sunshine!
I wonder if this is the estate where Joyce Vincent lived.

dg writes: It's not.
There's a similar affair above the Tesco on Tottenham High Road. I've always meant to go and have a closer look at it one day.
Wow. I lived round the corner on Lordship Lane for years, and never suspected the entrance next to Matalan (the grottiest chain store on the high road by far) led to this wonder.

The typeface on the orange sign is Eurostile Bold, favourite of many a sci-fi film. Looks entirely appropriate here!
i bet the tenants are pleased, cheap un-means tested housing in zone three, for life.
