So, a little flake challenge for you DG:

On this day in 1926, what was different about the sort of snow that fell in France?

(btw I was listening to BBC Essex today, so you won't find the answer on the R2 site)

Do I presume you don't know?

The answer is that it snowed black snow.

However, why and how it snowed black snow, I don't know. Nor did the presenter on BBC Essex.

I don't know why or how either but I do have confirmation it happened on December 6th.

And that is exactly the page that Google threw up for me too.

Urban myth or fact?
I was hoping you'd find the answer.
Don't disappoint me....

Best I can do is black snow in Colchester in 1884, I'm afraid.

Very good DG, that will do nicely, I am impressed.

Amazing how many phenomena seem to spread geographically from Colchester isn't it?
