Do I need to send you my bank details and PIN?
No, DG already has those. Haven't you noticed that DG no longer works.

This site is no more than a phishing farm. Still, it's the best read on the web hence a price worth paying.
Hmm, I think I’ll have to submit a FOI request regarding dg’s GDPR and the hidden information already obtained. I just don’t know how he does it but how can he really know as much as he does about all subscribers? He seems to know our habits and quirks, warts and all. Or is it just a very good crystal ball🔮?
This post will look good if I work out I need to send out a GDPR email for Tridentscan...

(I don’t think so because you have to click that box below to get any emails)
A nice jibe at the marketing community. Worth noting that were it genuine, there are at least two illegalities here: (a) pre-ticked boxes are no longer permissible; and (b) direct marketing consent can no longer be implied (thus "If you continue to use Diamond Geezer on or after 25 May 2018, you are agreeing to..." doesn't cover the marketer). See here for more info!
Now we know why DG collects Email and URL's when you post comments!

I just hope Cambridge Analytica gave him a good price for all that juicy data
This is important to some, but to others, like whatever....
I find it very interesting how this issue is being dealt with by different agencies. I have had a few admirably short and crystal clear pro-formas, ready to tick and return in prepaid envelopes. Others have been lengthy (or not so lengthy) statements, along the lines of DG's, with nothing to respond to. One, from a large organisation advised that I could unsubscribe, but disgracefully, gave me no way of doing so.

I am using this opportunity to sever as many links as I can with companies that I had no idea were holding my data.
I want Bus Stop M updates to continue, please.
I'm intrigued by how few GDPR notifications I've received compared with the number of mailouts.
Which box do I tick that will result in getting posts that are better tailored to my personal preferences?
I'm also having difficulty finding the box that would enable me to opt in to receive adverts that would be of interest to me and information about special offers.
Seeing as 99% of my junk emails seem to come from outside the EU, I don't think it is going to make much difference for me.
How is this different from just clicking the "unsubscribe" button?
I don't consent to my private details being splashed all over this blog. There has even been photos of my naked timetable holder!
The LibDems use the 'hidden' method of details collection. Almost all of their door-to-door fliers end up with a petition etc. where full details are requested. The privacy details are in about 4 point size text (black on white background), with no option to opt out other than to contact them.

Obviously some people must have been actually doing this because the latest ones have the same size text in white on a yellow background, so now impossible to read at all!

Once they have a person's details, they then spam them.
This is a great chance to clear your inbox of junk. If you don't respond to the emails they by law must remove you from their database.

I'm ignoring almost all of them - apart from the groups / businesses I know without doubt I want to stay connected with.

Only yesterday a pub that gave me a free pint in exchange for my email sent a second message saying sad to see you go. I wasn't sad, I've never been back but had never bothered to unsubscribe. Now they're doing it for me. There's even a possible bonus. If I resubscribe sometime in the future they'll probably give me another free pint!
Could you let me have details of the Russian botfarm please?

Asking for a comrade.
Please may I have an advertisement 'selected' for me by someone who has 'tailored it to my needs'?
@rogmi - simply don't sign the petition! They were only ever a data-harvesting tool, long before the internet created a so much better one. I say this as a former Lib Dem activist...
Fun fact: GDPR actually applies for all EU citizens regardless of where they are located.
So if you are an EU citizen using a US website, you still have rights under GDPR.
