Oh no, have already "lost" half an hour on the SABRE site and I didn't even know I was interested in road numbers and routes. Thanks DG.

This was meant to be yesterday, then... I understand

A4020 = the Uxbridge Road (along which the proposed West London Tram would have run)

I think you'll find that the A10 has loads of other names too, including:
Kingsland Road
Stoke Newington Rd (not to be confused with High St)
And many, many more

Good old Barnet. They certainly got their name on the map! But WHY???

Well, if you buy Pedantic of Purley's theory on the correct thread, it might be because 'Barnet' is rhyming slang for 'hair'...

You're missing Kingsland Road as part of the A10.

I've just added your blog to my feeds and this is my reward. "Selected" London streets indeed. Why not "carefully selected" while you're at it.

Carefully unselected streets...
A10:
Gracechurch Street, Bishopsgate, Norton Folgate, Shoreditch High Street, Kingsland Road, Kingsland High Street, Stoke Newington Road, Stoke Newington High Street, Stamford Hill, High Road, Bruce Grove, Lordship Lane, The Roundway, Great Cambridge Road.

It's odd you've unselected the Great Cambridge Road as part of the A10, as pretty much all of the A10 through Enfield is known locally by that name as far as I'm aware.

Also, isn't Brompton Road, going past Harrods, part of the A4?

B326 - Great Smith Street
