Use of words "Elizabeth Line" interesting - it thought it was meant to be "line" (not capitalised)? [Yes, I know it doesn't really matter but it's fun to acknowledge the difficulties of keeping consistent branding.]
At my place of work we battle the same problem of how to communicate maintenance/availability.

We can give simple (but blunt) green/yellow/red statuses, or more wordy updates that are harder to read quickly.

For TfL, splitting the purple & overground lines into sections may be a pragmatic solution.
Sweepstake on first signal failure then?
It was a good thing that yesterday was noted the first day of operation on Crossrail. Abbey Wood Station had no electricity so trains were not stopping.
And a fail at almost the first hurdle capitalising Line!
Someone at the Mail will already have a spreadsheet to keep track of all these notices. In three months there'll be UNBELIEVABLE AMOUNTS OF FAULTS ON BILLION POUND RAILWAY with a picture of Canary Wharf station even though some of them will be "lift out of order on platform 8 at Stratford, this may affect your interchange"
To be fair, once the various bits are joined up a problem at say Romford is likely to lead to disruption on the whole line. In that respect the Overground is very different as each line can broadly carry on regardless of problems on another one.
My main grip with "Elizabeth line" is what happens if/when Crossrail 2 goes ahead. Are we going to have Elizabeth II line? Or just a DLR situation where no attempt is made to disambiguate the lines?
It’s a pity Battersea Power Station station is not on the Elizabeth Line line. However, it might be on the future Charles Line line - if Crossrail II gets there at the right time and if he’s going to be called Charles, that is. I won’t be around to moan about any of it.
Have a jolly ride on the first EL service.
I'm going Devon from London Paddington on Saturday 11 June, thinking it would be my first time having a reason to use the Elizabeth line, yeah right
There were several months of Trial Operations for 12 trains per hour on the central section, but there doesn't seem to be a similar process happening for the build up to adding the (up to) 12 trains per hour to/from the Shenfield branch using the Stepney Green junction. Opening the self-contained railway on 24 May will be the "easy" bit compared with what is to follow.
