I'm surprised people were coming from so far afield - a friend who lives on Warton Road was going yesterday and was under the impression it was being advertised to local residents only. (It was free for him though.)
Boasting excellent transport connections to Waterloo, I'm sure this attraction will rake in the Money Money Money in our Summertime City.
I'm going to this in two weeks time, so it's been great to see these updates in your blog. I know it's going to be a bit Uncanny Valley and it's basically a disco in an IMAX, but I'm looking forward to it. Also I like that the band are alive and have endorsed this... I wouldn't go see an avatar of any band / artist who didn't agree to / know about it in their lifetime as that feels a slippery slope, but I bet many artists are watching to see what happens here. Ta for the drinks prices, good to know!
'Does Your Mother Know' that you hope to go soon?
'Mama Mia', My mother said I can get a train from 'Waterloo'. Get there early is 'The Name of the Game', to the venue that is 'As Good as New'. 'The Visitors', 'When All is Said and Done' may get 'Two for the Price of One'. 'I Have a Dream' that I will be there 'The Day Before You Came'. 'So Long'.
I wonder if they'll check bags and not allow bottles of liquids in for security?
(Bearing in mind we've just had the anniversary of the Manchester arena bomb).
I bought a standing ticket for a Sunday in September for £70 last week.
I note they plan weekend matinees. Having learned about daytime discos for older folks in South Korea - a genius idea - I find myself eyeing up locations for such a venture wherever I go now, with an eye to the same Abba era cohort (me). That could be a lot of fun. This isolated tourist sausage machine doesn't tickle my fancy.
Set up looks great and am going this Saturday! Any good suggestions of a nice local pub to take my family to prior?
Lord Tredegar or Morgan Arms at Mile End. Both only 10 -15 min walk to Bow Church for the DLR to Pudding Mill Lane.
Wonder who they will be showing next year - Elvis? Michael Jackson? David Bowie? The Beatles? Maybe Buddy Holly with ‘The day the music didn’t really die’
I was one of the lucky people attending last Friday’s ABBA rehearsal. Oh my! The show is stunning. All the songs I’d hope to hear were played and the live band and singers were excellent, but the star of the show is the technology. Visually stunning, the entire arena plays its part. The audience is right in the middle of it regardless of where you sit (and there’s not a bad seat in the house). And yes, the avatars work. They work superbly. To the extent that the woman behind me screamed her tits off when she thought the real group members walked on at one point! This is a superb show and has to be seen. We’re going back in July.
...and yes, all four members of Abba turned up for a 'massive promotional junket' on Thursday evening.

Had you stood here 20 years ago and suggested any of this, they'd have laughed at you.
