It's a shame that the stretch of Romford Road/Hog Hill Road where Havering meets Redbridge meets Barking & Dagenham no longer has a bus service. It used to be served by the 247 (and for many years before that by the 247A), but about a decade ago the route was diverted via Collier Row Road and Whalebone Lane to serve the City Pavilion (a wedding venue and leisure centre). Annoyingly, for anyone travelling between Romford and Hainault or Barkingside, this diversion increases the journey time by about five minutes.
