Please give it a rest no hard feelings just not that funny
Sorry PSR, you're wrong. It is.

Long may the Dangleway moniker stick.
Cheeky!

Good luck! ;-)
Still funny, after all these years.
Yes, funny. And always relevant.
Audiences? First we were passengers, then customers. What next?
That's not the full orginal name you gave it though.
Definitely still funny.
I'm hoping that in these cash-strapped times no other company registers interest, and then the rules of public procurement kick-in to secure Dangleway North/South for the next decade!
...with a discount for regular readers of the dg blog.
I didn't know it did not come under the daily cap.

How would you react if TfL indicated interest and invited you to a meeting?

You may mention in such a meeting that you know of an Australian who for a very reasonable and minimal fee could promote the Dangleway to Australian tourists before they visit London. Maybe they could even prepay with a very low commission owed to me, not really covering my costs at all.

My generous proposal is for the greater good of The Dangleway, London, the tourism sector and my good ole Mother Country.

"Rights to activate cabins"

...any ideas as to what this means?
...it means that when riding the cablecar you'll be surrounded by marketing collateral for the chosen brand.
I quite like "Sky Ride".

And, yes, wasn't your original moniker rather longer? Don't be shy!

dg writes: Already addressed that, thanks.
ffs DG, • DON’T GIVE THEM IDEAS! •

If “coca cola rocket” is a thing next year, am gonna squarely lay the blame on you for that one.
Tragically hilarious.
One of your best.
Very funny post - love it..
Yes put DG in charge of branding and we could all breathe easier again.
Great stuff!

Interesting that the Emirates sponsorship was for 10 years, and that they are just seeking a 3 year deal now. I imagine that any sponsors are more attracted by getting their name on the tube map, then sponsoring the Dangleway itself
Kindly suggesting Up Dangle and Down Dangle as alternative, shorter station names.
I tried putting 'Dangleway' into the Google maps search and it didn't find it.
So I've attempted to add it. It may take up to 24 hours to appear apparently.
Send it 🙂
I assume from this that Emirates are done with bankrolling this vanity white elephant.
I'm going to speculate that if no replacement sponsor comes forward, or the ££ is significantly less than the Emirates contribution, we may see the dangleway close for the winter months, when it will otherwise lose money without the sponsorship cheque.
I presume that if DG makes any contact with TfL they will swiftly remind him of the 'minmum investment' specified in the prospectus !
It should be called the "Diamond Dangleway" when it comes under your stewardship.
"Dangleway" is known and found in OpenStreetMap. loc_name="Arabfly Dangleway" has been added in 2012.
This is dg gold.
Most of us have a sense of humour. There’s always one 🙄
I suggested "Diamond Geezer Dangleway" as the new name on the relevant Ian Visits FB post of a few days back. I'm glad you approve. :-)
Google maps finds Dangleway now. Good work, RogerB!
I guess this also means the Emirates Aviation Experience, the tiny so-called attraction which allows TfL to sell more expensive 'Discovery' tickets, will be closing in June.

There's already a cafe nextdoor, so I wonder what sponsored abomination will replace it.
Whilst the scrap steel market is not particularly buoyant at the mo’ I think the manifesto pledge should include a suggestion that the useless thing is demolished. Got to be a few quids worth of scrap there.
TFL have form for making changes based on your posts DG. I am so excited to see if someone there takes this seriously (as they should of course)
“Dangleway” still on Google maps.... Bloody brilliant!
