I've just checked my own August 2002. Zero work to do in the office, an outrageously hedonistic (and, erm, educational) London weekend, a horrible comedy club, a pretentious boutique hotel, Patti Smith, trying to work out how to use RSS feeds, Vietnam.

Did you spot the topiary German Shepherd just behind the gate area? You can see a bit of it in your photo. Probably not worth a revisit if not, especially as it's clearly visible on streetview.
It's a favourite bit of hedging with my little one, along with the topiary Thomas the Tank Engine just south of Elmers End Green on the way to Layhams Road |
