Curiosity has got the better of me - what did Mr Station Bloke fetch from his office? Or is all to be revealed on a later day?

Was it a cup of tea?

Maybe it's a free tube history book. Should come in handy for the rest of this week.

Was it a copy of 'your' book about the Tube?

Argh! We need to know!

Not only is Roding Valley staffed but unless things have changed recently it is staffed 24 hours a day. LU learnt the hard way on the eastern end of the District line that it is easier to deter anti-social behaviour through prevention than try and displace it once is starts happening.

My local station - Finsbury Park - is another ungated station and surely well up there amongst the busiest non-zone 1 stations.... just an aside.

The Collective: Finsbury Park must be the busiest non-gated station now that Paddington has got barriers on all platforms. Or perhaps Waterloo W&C line?

It should be getting gates at some point, if the upgrade hasn't been postponed due to cost again.

The suspense is killing! Yes, what exactly was it that Mr Station Bloke brought back to show/give you?

I am, obviously, not going to mention what it was. Otherwise I'd have mentioned what it was.

What a tease you are. But I love the hedge train. Just wondering where Oxford Circus grow their Underground in Bloom entries, seeing as the entire station is devoid of natural light? I'll have to go and ask them...

Might have to pop out to Roding Valley myself to see if Mr Station Bloke give me anything intresting.

What a nice Mr Station Bloke.
My grandad was a station-master at a station in Falmouth and he spent his spare time tending the overgrown wasteland of a station approach until it won Best Kept Station West of Bristol one year.

On second thoughts it could have been some outdated (and maybe rare) underground maps or leaflets. Printed gold to someone like you.

DG,

Did he give you an Oyster wallet without the garish advertising of Sweden's favourite furniture seller?

Was the station master handsome?
That could lead to an *ahem* interesting encounter and explain the coyness behind your posting!
great blog btw... you must be one hell of a bloke to know in a pub quiz!
