I was disappointed to find anti wind power propaganda on the display about wind turbines. Seemed very NIMBY.
Good to see the sails fully restored after they crashed through the roof following a storm in late 2015. Was a sad sight on the Common for most of 2016 not to see the windmill in all its glory.
"single snail brace countersink"?

Presumably this is a countersink bit for a drilling brace, but what is a "single snail"?

Would this an example of the type of countersink with a hole through the middle (like, er, this), as opposed to the more common "umbrella" type with several cutting edges? (like that) Or perhaps a countersink bit with a lead screw at the end? (Like the other)

I hope someone is getting good use out of the old tools.
Interesting - thanks very much.

One of my relatives (an uncle, and his father) used to live in the windmill house back in the early 1900's. The father was an old soldier of considerable repute, and represented his country at shooting in the 1912 Olympics, while in retirement was the Steward of the London Scottish Golf Club at Wimbledon for many years.

I shall make a point of going to see the museum one day.
