.....but protesting at genuine ambiguity doesn't make me a pedant does it? It's possible, is it not, that the event was last night at midnight, or might be tonight at midnight, or possibly today at noon?

I've started photographing offending signs........
Is Stephen going to become our 'time' equivalent of Bristol's apostrophe sign changer?

Thanks for the update on the bun ceremony but I see it as a sad commentary on the demise of the pub, hastened by the smoking ban.

Remember all those folks who said they would use pubs if smoking was banned?

Most of them lied.

(Sits back to receive yuppie incoming.)
the poster at your Instagram link says 12 am, but her typed text next to it says 12 pm
Great witty post. Thank you DG. I go near the pub almost every day on the way to work. Let's hope Justin is a dimond fella!
@John

........groan - what do they teach them at school these days? I think this is going to be my crusade.
Justin's my Brother in Law. He's dj'd at the Widows Son a few times on Good Friday over the years. He isn't, however, the bloke in the YouTube clicked you've linked to DG. I'm impressed a member of my family has made it to your hallowed pages!
Dammit, I wasn't expecting the world to have two DJ Justin Vellas. I shall never make a journalist.

Thanks for the heads-up, and a proper local connnection! A rewrite is in order...
Conflicting emotions here.
I'm glad the traditions survives, but there is no way I'll be setting foot in any pub with a live DJ - no matter how good they may be!

*Passes the baton to the younger generation, and stands aside.*
... most of them lied.

One cannot lie when making a prediction. One can err, but that is not a lie.
@John: well spotted, re the time on the poster! I've never been able to understand why people don't just say 12 noon.
