I had a great time when I last went along and it was a very quiet weekday so no distractions, loved the place.
When we visited 10+ years ago with the children, the grand be-draped hall with the throne had re-enactors who played out an historic mini-drama. I've forgotten the detail but recall that all present were involved in a vote.. so it may have been a lesson on Royal power, or democracy.
It was very well done, and they remember our visit to DC fondly.. unlike much else we did together back in the day!
Any sign of BoJo's post 2019 Lumleybunker? For he alone will protect us from invading French schoolchildren and The Belgians.
Adding this to my list of places to visit next time I'm in England.
I visited with my wife and three boys in the mid 1960's. It was a great experience..and I'm glad to hear that it has improved with age.
Well done! Our membership is approaching renewal, and I don't think we've been to any yet!
Too many places to visit - so little time! Sigh
I walked up to the castle, saw the price tag and turned around. IIRC a group of youth did the same.

Even if this suits of whole day the price is IMHO exaggerated.
One-off visits are indeed not cheap, but as DG notes, an annual membership is much better value. Visit just one place a month for a year and it's under a fiver a visit. Well worth it if you like historic buildings of any sort.
