It’s Gravel Pit Lane rather than Gravel Hill Lane. It is wonderfully atmospheric old lane but quite lonely.

Riefield Road partly follows the course of Gravel Pit Lane where it turned left up towards Falconwood Station. This was long before the station existed. Rochester Way follows the course of Crown Woods Lane before turning right down Crown Woods Way. Crown Woods Lane now just runs from Shooters Hill to Welling Way and Rochester Way junction.
