As a longtime (until 2022) nearby resident that sign always annoyed me more than it should.
I used to live on the A2024. Except I no longer live there and it's not the A2024 anymore (in fact, it wasn't actually the A2024 when I lived there, having been renumbered many years before). It's now the B2233, renumbered because of a low railway bridge at Barnham. I look forward to you writing about it in 210 years from now.
The corners of that sign also have the wrong radius, even the posts it's mounted to look wrong- it looks unofficial, can a council create its own traffic signs.
Two posts in two days where I have a legitimate reason to comment! Had my first pint of beer at The Nevill. A pint of Carling soundtracked to late 90s balearic dance music. Pleasantly surprised to hear it is still open.
That building to the left of the odd road sign in West Blatchington had better be listed soon. Before it accidentally catches fire and gets demolished.
It's actually the roadsign that's seriously crooked - the flats to the left are reassuringly vertical.
If it is an unofficial sign, it is definitely useful and my thanks to whoever put it up. My daughter used to live in Hove and coming into the town that way, it was always helpful in identifying the correct road to turn off onto (indeed the one past the parked-up caravans and motorhomes and Waitrose).
Glad I could help - it's very odd seeing familiar sights from my runs featured on here!
That's a really weird road sign. Must be completely unofficial. Why is it so far from the road?
