In Southend, Debenhams reopened for its fire sale.

The area was heaving as a feeding frenzy of bargain hunters descended. Crowd control was needed. I kept well away. Also Trespass is showing an "Everything Must Go sign". The High Street has lost so many shops it's looking very sad for itself.

On the plus side at least Waterstones reopened, so some vestige of civilisation remains.
