There was plenty of free beer when I toured the Carlsberg and Tuborg breweries a few years back. The tours were both free, though the tour and beer selection at Carlsberg was far better. Had some lovely brews. Only problem, the tour had started around breakfast time. Drunk by 10.00 thanks to Elephant Beer.
As beer companies only seem to exist in order to eventually merge, I think rival Tuborg is part of Carlsberg and has been for a while. At least that's what I remember the guide telling us when we did a tour of the brewery in the late 80s.

Still remember the rather awesome 'elephant gate' complete with their lucky swastikas !

Half a litre of Carlsberg is indeed not quite a pint. It is about a pint plus 10%.

Like all capital cities centre drinking is expensive. A 10 minute trip west on a number 2 bus from the Town Hall would have found you some chearful little bars in suburbia, at half the price. Next time....
I also believe being in a tourist's centre makes you spend considerably more than you would. When I was in Britsin I also avoid Soho unless I felt like it. None of my best meals during my two trips were in London I am afraid...
Well that's pretty steep, even for a capital city. Does Denmark impose a heavy tax on alcohol as Sweden does?
UK-Pint: 568ml
Half a litre: 500ml
US-Pint: 473ml

So there is an error in Scrumpy's post
Recent TV adverts for Carlsberg actually tell us that the British version has not been paricularly good.
Is Scrumpy confusing litre with kilogram? Kilo is 2.2 pounds, so half a kilo would be a pound plus 10%.

My main recollection of Danish food is the enormous pastries.
Danish cuisine is hard to find in London but Ole & Steen at Crossrail Place in Canary Wharf has the authentic bread, cakes and pastries they sell in their Copenhagen stores. Authentic even in ruinous price, I always think that at least I saved the airfare to offset the purchase price. And then the eating makes it all worth it anyway. Can't comment on their coffee, perhaps you should try it out on BestMate.
Being vegetarian, I find eating on the continent quite a challenge - cheese omelette and chips or cheese pizza seem to be the default options, so heaven help you if you are vegan!
A trip to Hampstead in November could be the answer to all your Dansk food needs, the Danish Christmas Bazaar.
I definitely like your dip into travel blogging. Informative and personal.
