Zami Ali's claim of AI systems embedded across all Council operations could very easily be achieved (and may already have been) - I work for a different local authority who have just had Copilot installed on all laptops, so any current or incoming candidate could easily claim that here.

Whether Ali knows this, or is just using current buzzwords to jump on the zeitgeist, that's up to you to decide.
Jamesthegill - I suggest an FoI request as CoPilot is not a cheap license.
Socialist candidate - campaigning for free public transport can be done by anyone, implementing it can’t
Calling out the UK's role in genocide is always an honourable endeavour. The fact that nothing has changed is not the fault of the messenger.
It changed nothing until it did - apartheid, abortion, gay marriage, equal rights etc., it takes a long time, especially against something as embedded as the Israel lobby and in the country that created the 'little loyal Jewish Ulster' in the first place - luckily, we can blame the USA now.
Very enjoyable read today.
I'm so glad I don't live in Tower Hamlets, even though I've always quite liked Bow, broadly speaking
Is that the Reform candidates real name? You can't make this shit up. John Bullard - John Dullard more like
One of our Reform UK candidates suggested that police numbers could be effectively doubled by having them go round singly rather than in pairs then blow a whistle in the event of trouble to attract the attention of nearby constables (I am not making this up).

That policy was demonstrably a failure in 1888.
Calling out the UK's role in genocide definitely has an impact, just having a visible opposition is important in itself. But beyond that there are definitely things that local authorities can do (and have been doing) that can enact change and have a positive material impact, especially in the face of inaction/complicity from the government.

The Green candidate's manifesto includes extending Tower Hamlets' current divestment from arms companies to include fossil fuel companies and companies involved in illegal settlements in occupied Palestinian territories.
Bilge like that would make me want to deliberately spoil my ballot paper by writing "no confidence in any candidate presented" in bold letters across the paper.

Morally I would have actively expressed a clear choice within the process by doing that, and "spoiled" is counted for statistics although having an official "none of the above" option would be more powerful message.
Lol, sounds like the lot I received!

Having switched to a Conservative council for the first time in decades at the last local election, Labour's manifesto is claiming to continue with what the Tory's are currently doing (basically admitting it is good and wishing they'd thought of doing it 4 years ago!), with the sole addition of freezing next year's Council Tax which would therefore make most of it no longer viable!
I think my idea of "alphabetical by surname" is different to yours...
(wow, that took long enough)
