Dependably Good-humoured writeup thanks, a brief break from your illuminating Purple pages. I enjoyed the pair of Jubilee blogs. ’77 saw me screen-printing Stuff The Jubilee' t-shirts and yet kipping overnight in Mall (unattired).
Watching the TV coverage of the parade, it seemed that most of the celebs on the buses and other floats were looking away from the park. I felt this was a pity for the Parkside viewers. Unless, of course, they played to the camera and really did wave to fans on both sides.
Huge respect to Her Maj and her life of service to the Royal Family. Not even Bill Roche comes close in terms of longevity in a single role. I'm no Republican, but found the flag-waving hordes cringeworthy, and mainly unrepresentative of our multicultural society. So had hoped that coverage of the Platy Jubes was finally over. Maybe it is now.
The impression where I live is that most people used the 4 day break to visit relatives (shops quiet, fewer parked cars, no evening mopeds), there were some fireworks somewhere last night, otherwise nothing - this includes those that had NHS stuff in their windows during Covid, or England flags during Euro2020.
... An 18-year-old I was caretaking several young people who DID want to be there to watch.
I was disappointed that the age of the buses used in the pageant didn't all match the decade in question. I know there probably isn't yet an open-top Boris bus, but there must be some Atlanteans or Metrobuses available.
I've been so busy with normal everyday life over the last 4 days I only managed to watch the concert live!
I didn't bother recording the parade, but having heard so much about it since I might see if I can make the time to catch it on I-player.

Otherwise, if it wasn't for the non-stop coverage on TV you'd never have guessed there was a Jubilee from my locality!
So few comments! Perhaps many regular contributors are still recovering from 4 days of non-stop celebrating or perhaps there's little interest in the whole occasion.

I'm not particularly a Royalist but still found some bits of the celebration both nationally and local to me quite enjoyable. Finally watched the Paddington Bear bit yesterday, and that did raise a chuckle.
