Inspired to step up by events last February, my daughter is 9 months into her new role as an Apprentice Emergency Medical Technician with EEAS. Coincidentally, she is off to a 4-week 'Blue Light' driver training course on Monday. No residential accommodation will be provided for her, because the training location is (by just 2 minutes!) less than 1 hour from home.
It hadn't occurred to me before that The Crystal looked like a ship. Perhaps it should have been obvious. It was only now when looking at that last photo and I wondered what the ship was in the background.
The Nightingale hospital is operational and has patients. The patients have all been sent from other London hospitals as they have 'long covid', they are testing negative but are taking a long time for their bodies to recover. So they are now here so that the beds in main hospitals can be used for covid positive patients requiring major treatment.
That's the plan, yes. But the Nightingale isn't due to re-open until next week.
thanks for this update, one of the last things i did before lockdown 1 was present at a conference at the excel. its nice to see, even if not in the flesh.
Since when was snooping around the perimeter of the Excel centre, taking photos of ambulances being used to train key workers and listening in to worker conversations essential exercise?
Suburbitonian. "you can leave your home to exercise." says the legislation. Only journos misrepresenting legislation include "essential"
A walk to ExCel and back is exercise.
I hear firepersons and police drivers are being trained as ambulance drivers. Maybe more will be needed when the genuine ones have bad reactions to the vaccines and need to be carried away somewhere. Have to say, I don't fancy dying on a camp bed in the Excel centre.
B-BS!
If you care about the NHS you shouldn’t be walking around the Excel centre. You should be leaving the house for essential reasons only and should not leave your local authority area according to the guidance. It’s a shame people are breaking the rules it’s only for a few months you need to stay home
That's not what the guidance says.
We have discussed this.
