I do hope someone somewhere uses your series of posts as a case study for how not to do it.
Inb4 the moaners.
Hadn't realised how much I missed the bus stop saga until reading this update. Hopefully Andrew is right and this will be a classic case study in how many little things need fixing when making a change. However, I fear for the the rest of the Bow Road bus stops.
Slowly getting there! Well done.
Writing as someone who only very rarely has to catch TfL buses it's 'encouraging' to know that the affliction of 'not being properly thought through' isn't just limited to other parts of the country.

Otherwise I'm just fed up that some places get buses so frequently. Our 'frequent' routes throughout this city are every 20 min, more usually every half hour. Some buses only come every two hours - a bit like out in the countryside.

Consequently it is quicker, and cheaper, to cycle. And I shan't start on the stupidities associated with cycle lanes here!
'Bus Stop M' couldn't be used to programme DG Towers into the i-Bus drone with DG's name on it. The risk of it taking out McDonalds was considered unacceptably high, and Bus Stop M also had an Evil Twin at Warton Road.

So a unique dummy location had to be created on a temporary basis, code named 'Alighting Point For The 205'.

Fortunately, the mission had to be aborted at the last moment when DG failed to heed the warning to evacuate. The crippled drone fell short, landing further back in Bow Road...
There are some great helmet cam video's from cyclists using the new superhighways that ave opened.

BUSES.

EAST LONDON.

BOW.

FOREVER.
The finished route through Vauxhall is impressive, But crikey - that guy cycles faster than I would be comfortable with - a really close shave with that other cyclist at the north side of Vauxhall Br
The tfl bus page is just so much rubbish. The service status page for route 15 currently (1pm) shows "no reported disruptions". This on Lord Mayors Show day - when every bus across the City is on diversion....
To use an Army phrase, Proper Planning and Preparation Prevents Piss Poor Performance (the 7 Ps).

If anyone questions why transport infrastructure projects cost so much, this saga says everything you need to know.

@ Rational Plan - he does go at one heck of a pace. It's not exactly leisurely Dutch style cycling on a sit up and beg bike. When I used to cycle commute not sure I ever got up to that speed even with the aid of a hill! I notice that some pedestrians really haven't sussed yet where the road, cycle lane and pavement start and stop.

I wonder what will happen if more slower, leisurely cyclists start using these lanes, as is the intent, and the "speed merchants" find their currently whizzo cycle lane impeded?
@ DG - I believe the I-Bus update cycle is *fortnightly* on a Thursday night. Therefore it took three cycles, rather than 6, to effect the Bow Church name change.

dg writes: The update bit's updated, thanks.

I still don't really understand why there is such an apparent disconnect between the Countdown pages and the "smartphone friendly" main website. Many many months ago the TfL Digital Blog said that all the Countdown stuff would only be on the main website with the old page swept away. As I hate the new pages I'm rather pleased the old page is still extant.
Tediously Predictable - Nope. Interesting real life proof of Tfl ineptitude told in an entertaining and accurate manner.
If you don't like reading blogs by a bloke who lives in Bow, why bother?
Tediously Predictable has hit on the perfect pseudonym.
