The change to the 346 route will be a step backwards due to the delays and congestion in Romford and other parts of the route.
Both 346/497 have their Sunday services restored, the 346 had an experimental Sunday service from 9/96 to 9/97.

Wonder what the 'issues' were and why they disappeared (or they perhaps don't work there anymore).
I live right by the northern terminus of the current 497 so if you’re out riding the extended 346 in March, let me know and I’ll pop the kettle on!

The 497 is a good alternative for getting to Harold Wood station when the 496 is playing up, or if you’ve just missed one so the 346 will continue to be that alternative, with the benefit of running more frequently and on Sundays.

Another good thing with the 497 is that the last bus back to Harold Hill leaves Harold Wood station after the last 496, so it’s always a handy safety net rather than having to get off the train at Romford and get a bus from there (or face a 30 minute walk from Harold Wood station).
But, but north-south connectivity in the borough is not as good as west-east, so we have to drive everywhere say all our politicians.
Looking forward to all the bus posts coming up!
To be fair, what does it help by withdrawing 347 anyways? Reallocating the vehicle somewhere useful? It's only a 4-trip-between-peaks-a-day route and the vehicle is probably used somewhere else during peaks anyways. Instead of withdrawing it, maybe shortening it to Upminster and increasing frequency is more likely. Unless those living in the unique part of 347 mostly go to Romford that is...
Thanks for highlighting the launch of the "new" S2 route in the Sutton and Epsom area, which will immediately be most useful terminating at St. Helier Hospital (diverting from the stub 470 route), and running on Sundays for the first time.

What has perplexed me though is trying to find this information on the labyrinthine TfL website. I tried for around half-an-hour but eventually gave up. However, it was easy to find on the londonbusroutes site.

Please could you show me the way!
Ken - the S2's not on the TfL website because it doesn't exist yet. It will appear on the Bus Changes page closer to the time.

TfL deleted all their past bus consultations in 2021, including Sutton Bus Changes, but you can still find the supporting documents here.

My post about the consultation is here, but this isn't what's being implemented.
Very disappointed in the maps provided. Being Romford, I would have expected the same location being served by two different buses to appear at opposite corners of the map.
A week on, and TfL have now produced maps to show the results of the consultation.

I retract my accusation that they never do this.
