Another good couple of articles today and, by the sound of it, you really enjoyed your outing DG.
West half is definitely the best half. Once it hits the ground and then below it's not as photogenic.

Covered a heck of a lot of ground on your trip DG!
DG is well-known for cramming more into a day out than many of us can manage in a weekend (or even a week).

I happened to spot this one, posted later in the day, and very rewarding it is too, but that's now going to mean regular refreshes all day every day. I daresay there is a way round this, but it may involve some scary bit of post-millenial software...

Great recommendation, if I'm Paris, I'll be sure to check it out!
This brought back memories! On my first visit to Paris, way back in about 1969, I stayed in an apartment on avenue Daumesnil that overlooked this railway, which was still in operation. Steam engines pulling geriatric carriages, noisy and picturesque. I'm sure the neighbourhood likes the walkway much better.
If the Jubilee (Fleet) line had been built as planned in the 1970s then the DLR probably wouldn't exist, and there would be a ready-made disused viaduct running from near Canary Wharf almost to the Tower...
My thoughts exactly. It’s wonderful.
