I...for one, will not be going anywhere near Oxford Street or any other "sales" today. Find the idea that some stores open as early as 6am on the day after Christmas Day as bad...am I the only one? Perhaps... Boxing Day should be subject to the same trading laws as Sundays... regradless of what day of the week it falls on. Stores tend to close early on Christmas Eve even if it falls on a weekday...so maybe fine if stores opened late on Boxing Day?

I can't speak for the Noel Street YHA but sheet sleeping bags were alive and well when I stayed at Blackboys YHA in East Sussex the other week while on the Wealdway walk.

I remember Noel Street being a centre for small trimmings businesses - all the beads, braids and tassels you could need for making hats and costumes. From your post it sounds as though there's just one left now. Sic transit glorious Soho...

Working just opposite the Palladium on Argyll Street, I know Noel Street well. I like the marked contrast between one end and the other.
