If I could afford one of those flats, I would ask at least 3 questions: Are there sprinklers? How much wood is in the construction? Is there an alternative fire escape if the main stairway is blocked or full of smoke?

I do like the open air atrium in your first picture. The rounded corners are very C21. There is always the risk, of course, that you have flattered it somewhat by such a clever angle.

Any idea why Tower Hamlets opened South Grove Workhouse outside the main arrangements? There were other buildings in the borough open as part of Open House, so they weren't boycotting it.
