I always enjoy these posts which their mixture of history, geography and mordant wit. Looking forward to the next one.

[I don't know this part of London at all - I was brought up in Hayes (Middlesex).
A photo on the disused stations site has a view taken in 1974 from a tarmac footpath looking south across Montagu Road to a clearly disused section, another looking north taken in 1978 shows it had lighting - so at least this part of the closed railway had already been snazzed up and reopened.

Although he lost the Lane, Jeremy's Green is still there, and looks like a delivery drivers' nightmare, consisting as it does of a loop, two dead end roads - each accessible from Montagu Road and a link road - all called Jeremy's Green.
Living a few miles away in my youth, this area always felt like a strange hinterland with its proximity to the vast nearby reservoirs.

You passed a couple of unusually named roads - Pegamoid Road (possibly a nod to earlier industry in the area?) and on an estate where the names of grand rivers have been appropriated, there is a Zambezie Road.
Is that a postcode that's strayed its way onto the directional sign in your first photo?
Great stuff. Bulgarian bakery? Now I’m craving some banitsa!
That's one fine horse sculpture
Are these B roads ever signposted as such?
Internet as a customer lure still seems be a thing in areas where there is a significant population of recently arrived immigrants. I don't know if that applies to the area of this walk though. Not that far from me there are a number of Ethiopian and Eritrean internet cafes.
oooh next up is a road I properly know, looking forward to that
Montague Road still hosts the A1 Cafe and Restaurant, which is not quite so imposing as its name suggests.
Ah yes, the secondary school currently known as 'AIM North London Academy', previously named Nightingale, Turin Grove, Salisbury, Mandeville, Eldon, Houndsfield and Cuckoo Hall.
Probably a sign that things never go too well for that particular school.

And Cuckoo Hall academy is no more, merged with another school on the same site in the latest round of Multi-Academy Trust shenanigans.
Lovely stuff. I live nearby and think your descriptions are generally flattering. I've been wondering when you'd make it to Edmonton - there's actually some interesting bits which so rarely get discussed...
