Thanks for compiling the list.

@John - I echo that. And DG, in one post you've solved my free time dilemma for a whole month. Have to agree with you about Totally Thames - frustrating to eek out the gems.

My shortcut must be broken; I clicked on DG but my browser took me to Londonist instead.

Expect this blog to change to Deej, then.

It's going to be a busy month! Thanks.

Many thanks for taking the time to compile this, some really interesting stuff.
That said, I am most distressed about the anniversary of the opening of the Victoria Line. I remember it well and am not happy to learn it was 50 bloody years ago. At least I can remember it I suppose. |
ah September! the month we all hope can see the end of without coughing-up more money to the energy companies by putting on the heating. plus the schools go back...with the ever increasing "school-run" snarl-ups. and it also time to see what feckless shop first starts displaying "stuff" for Christmas!
|
Given the way people (who seem unable to make their own entertainment) rush in ever increasing crowds to organised events, this list is a very useful way of knowing places to avoid in September.

The Lambeth Heritage Festival brochure link doesn't seem to be working at the moment, but this one should:
http://www.lambethlocalhistoryforum.org.uk/home/wp-content/uploads/2018/07/heritage-leaflet2018-low.pdf The link I have put in 'homepage' also leads to more Lambeth events and walks throughout south London continuing from October into next year, should September be a bit full. |
