Out in the cold, cold East (Havering) I remember snow settling for several days, on a few occasions when I was the right age to be out in it (so early 80s I guess). Bet there’s kids sledging dahn the ingi today...
There was a great pub on the Salford/Manchester border called the Mark Addy, in the early 90s, it had a wonderful selection of cheeses for lunch.

If my street is anything to go by, there will be a spike in Covid thanks to everyone enjoying the fleeting pleasures of snow.
You don't seem to have had much of the white stuff in Tower Hamlets. Mind you our couple of inches has more or less gone now.
The pub was named after the man who saved a lot of people from drowning in the Irwell. I've lived up there for a long time, but I check in here for London nostalgia and updates on public tranport policy :)
It hasn't got above freezing today. Up on Kisdon hill the drifts have frozen crusts on them. The dog can run clean across the top of them without leaving a print let alone breaking through.
Unusually, the snow came from the West, so we had much more here in Twickenham than East London, where I used to live and similarly remember heavy and lasting snow in the late 80s and early 90s period.
Only one comment before the miserable Covid one!
We had around three inches that stuck for a couple of days the week before last. It was so nice looking at it out of the window knowing that I didn't have to go out in it.
The captions on the photos reveal 4 places I can't remember you blogging about, although you probably have. Is that a real horse or a sculpture?
Here in NW London we had a great showing. Lots of people (and police!) out, but all being sensible and sticking to the rules which was good to see.
Still got a good inch covering the ground today.
