The Guardian article header suffers from the misuse of statistics. This is due to the preponderance of new housing at vastly inflated prices compared to the existing stock. In fact the article does mention that these have gone up by 'only' 200%, a far more representative figure.

Glad at least something has gone well over the last 10 years!!

I don't think I want to hear your 2030 predictions - they seem to be (quite scarily) pretty accurate!
