Oh no, one for Brexit too? This means it must be getting serious...
Boris encounters reality, wishes it would go away.

But the whole point of leaving, was to leave, not comply with anything ever again, to smoke freely in pubs, park wherever we want, to drink warm beer whilst being bored senseless watching cricket.
Gunboats! You couldn't make it up.
Two conclusions: negotiating is something the EU does not partake in. It just sits rigidly on the original stance.. The Royal Navy ships were bought, and their sailors trained at great expense, primarily to defend our waters. The first job I did in RN after training in 1979 was escort a fishing boat, illegally fishing in our waters, in to Stornoway for prosecution. Great run ashore.
This country and its government are so unbelievably stupid. I wish my profession could be done outside of the UK - I’d have left to Amsterdam, Stockholm, Berlin or Brussels in a flash.
I have a friend works for a French company that export 40% of their product to the UK. They believe the UK is negotiaing in good faith and think it is the EU would prefer to keep the UK as a vassal state rather than have a mutually beneficial trade deal. Whilst they are very worried about a no deal, as they think they will lose perhaps half of the UK business, they think at this stage it is inevitable due to EU politics.
And my friends thought I was mad back in 2016 when I said there did not exist a deal that wouldn't infuriate most of the population so No Deal was most likely.
Now they are telling us remainers not to go round saying "I told you so!" Why not? These are self-inflicted wounds, after all. Would it have been so difficult, when the pandemic started, to say "OK we will defer the process for a while"?
Will Boris resign over his abject failure to secure any kind of deal, let alone an oven ready one? Silly question....
Please stop calling the Prime Minister ‘Boris’. It perpetuates this lovable quirky schtick. (Not even his own family calls him that - his name is Alex).

The sooner we all treat Mr Johnson as the incompetent politician he is, the better.
We are right royally screwed.
Depressing as the whole Brexit debacle has been from the very first mention of a Referendum, I'm more concerned about the impending disaster from having the current lot running the show.

If we thought the last 10 years were bad, we ain't seen nothing yet - and now with the effects of the pandemic further worsening the situation.

This "I told you so" business shows just how bad they think it's going to be post-EU!!
I have every intention of loudly proclaiming "I told you so" when it all goes tits up. There were no such calls when the Leavers were gloating "You lost- get over it."

To avoid you possibly punishing us in the future we will punish ourselves right now. That is taking back control indeed!
The EU always insists on a level playing field, as far as UK is concerned. If it ACTUALLY operated a level playing field, we might not have voted to leave.

French Government (for one) routinely props up French businesses allegedly of national importance.
If the French government propped up a business in contravention of the treaties, there are plenty of mechanisms for members states to get resolution.
