NO GIVEAWAYS, thanks.
(but tell us how you did) |

Question 1's really fun, took me a bit to work it out! These puzzles are always fun, thanks for making them!
I enjoyed question 1. First part of Q2 I have a plausible answer, can't face the remaining parts, except to answer "lots". Q3 I addressed by considering a certain amount in silver coins and a certain amount in bronze (hope that's not a giveaway). OK, they're all steel coins, as you advised us, but the words silver and bronze are still used on banks' paying in slips.

Am I misreading Q3? Reason for asking is that a correct answer is "infinity" based on precisely how the question is framed. Clearly that isn't the (intended) answer!
I get the same as Paul P for Q3, I assumed it *was* intentional though.

Hang on yes, 3) needs rewording. (there, that's better) |
Only way I can see infinity is if there was such a thing as a 7p coin (or 9p etc).
Nicely corrected!
Ah. Got it!
Note to self: I have a lot more readers over 60 who remember coins than readers who like maths.

2 seems tricky, although I suspect some level of recursion could help here by summing up each step.

1 was good fun. Sudoku-like.
2 may be generalised through a small recursive algorithm. 3 is a nice bit of logical reasoning. |
