Damn, damn, damn. I thought I was going to have the pleasure of telling you about one you'd missed, namely the South American themed Carnaval del Pueblo, due to take place in Walworth on September 21.
But I can't :(
I just made a search for it to provide a link, but instead found the news that this year's event has had to be cancelled :(
The Barnet Hill Lifeboat Crew Shanty Singers???
I'm not sure which boggles the mind more, - that North London has (needs!!) a lifeboat crew or that they sing sea shanties! :D
Like RogerW in an earlier comment I stopped at the last minute.
I had been looking forward to "Play Me I'm Yours" street pianos coming to Canary Wharf for September, but when I checked this morning it has been postponed until 2015!

Some of the events at Greenwich look interesting, likewise Hampton Station.

I know the city likes a Bull market, but
Gorilla's running through its streets. what next?!
Come on, DG, you don't expect us to fall for the same thing twice! After your wonderful Mile End and Bow Festival, which had us all guessing, we're ready for this one! Of course it was the Barnet Lifeboat Shanty Singers that gave it away, but I have to say I was suspicious of the 'sensory extravaganza by the Thames' and the 'Newham PumpkinFest', not to mention 'waterside gaiety' with Lord Mayors in narrowboats! And you expect us to fall for something as banal as 'the Year of the Bus'? After wasting a day looking for the Pearly King's candle-lit procession along the Mile End Road, I certainly won't be waiting for a 'free Routemaster from Brentford' to get me to a dog show! Hilarious stuff!!
Bermondsey Street festival is on the 20th. Just outside London....Slough Canal Festival is 13/14th September - I'll be there.
When you clock your way to the events schedule:

There's nothing there!

Where and when are the fireworks?
Found it!

For anyone still reading Sept 1st comments, on Sunday 21st there is the somewhat hidden Hidden River Festival just behind the Castle Climbing Centre on Green Lanes N4 - which also is open as part of Open House.
