The coach tour of the Olympic site and Daley Thompson still seems to have places available, as of yesterday. I know coz teen Ham came out with a surprising (or maybe, not so surprising) "why didn't you tell me? I wanna come"

We are aiming for the BBC having signally failed to get in anywhere else.

You've got the wrong St Augustine's Tower - I think they mean the fantastic spire on St Augustine's Church, right on the north-western edge of Westminster.

No, I tell a lie - Open House have got a photo of the wrong St Augustine's...

oh, the Mandir in Neasden is completely breathtaking both from a way away and up close and inside! it's one of the most unique architectural sorts of things i'd ever seen.

I have booked a place to see Churchill's bunker in Neasdon, which leaves me far away from anywhere else, but am planning on trying to get to 120 Fleet Street and the Foreign Office / India Office. Last year I poodled around the British Library and St Pancras Old Church, both of which were interesting to see.

Sorry for posting twice, but I forgot to say thanks for the recommendations you have listed. And cheers miles away, will see if I can get to the Mandir, it looks stunning.

The Ritzy Cinema seems a bit of a trek - the map locates it in Kazakstan!

I've just moved away from London and feeling homesick already. Gladstone's red hand is a strange yet heuge reminder of where I spent the last 19 years of my life.
Ta.

What have you got against B&D, DG?

It's not all bad, you know, honest.

Tours of the Brunswick Centre and Barbican which is slightly odd as I spend a lot of time in both places already.....and 30 St Mary's Axe ake The Gherkin very early on Sunday morning.

In past years I have enjoyed visiting private houses. I think people open their houses only once and never again when they realise how exhausting it is.

Hopefully the weather will continue to be good.

"Where are you lot going?"

I am viewing the city from level 8 of the 15 level "Willbank House", a delightful reinforced concrete building with fibreglass facades. Opened in 1978 by the then Prime Minister Rt Hon (later Sir) Robert (Piggy) Muldoon*. A stunning example of pre-air-conditioned office towers atop a 2 level shopping podium, ushered in by the demolition of many beautiful and not-so-beautiful early 20th century buildings. This was brought about by a tightening of building regulations relating to earthquake survival.

Yes, I have made it to work on a Saturday.
