I will be intrigued to see how those gates will operate in practice - they've been positioned before the bus garages so they will have to be continually open to let buses in and out. Why not 100 meters further down the road?

They also block off the allotment entrance which is just down by the bus garage - they are allowing access only
via minibus from a specially created carpark, issuing photo ids, and having a compulsory Health & Safety induction, so the selected plotholders who are allowed to continue tending their plants for a few hours each week until September can safely negotiate this little stretch of dangerous security zone. Its not known whether they will be forced to wear blindfolds during the journey.
