Frank, it's more that the trophy itself is irrelevant rather than whether it was achieved by Arsenal Women or Arsenal Men- it's from the inaugural edition of the competition, which doesn't have any equivalent in men's football. Of course, any trophy is worth celebrating but I feel like it was dismissed due to not being a major trophy relative to Arsenal Women's previous achievements.

The trophy won by the Arsenal Women's team was for a tournament where they entered at the semi-final stage and only had to win two matches to clinch. The final, played at Arsenal's home ground, attracted an attendance lower than most of their standard league matches.

I've been going to see Arsenal women for nigh on a decade, and DG's summation of the trophy is accurate - it's no more relevant than a Charity Shield, Intertoto Cup or the thing that Chelsea's men's team won in the summer.

(Would've liked a bus tour after the Champions League win last summer but I appreciate it was tricky to squeeze in between the final and the players heading off for the Euros. Also, given how absolutely trollied McCabe was, it's probably best she wasn't anywhere near a moving vehicle!)

Possibly the worst final I've ever seen. Arsenal tried to bore their way to a win and got found out. Football was the winner, anti-football was the loser.
