It is not all bad. Sometime at age 59 (just) during your 60th year you will receive your 60+ travelcard which becomes valid from the day you receive it (or used to). So there is something to look forward to in the coming year.
On a related note, you probably now have your last ever annual travelcard.
Even for you currently possessing a Zones 1-3 annual travelcard, a 60+ card should be a game changer. Your opportunities to easily travel a little further afield will increase with the free train travel beyond zone 3. So you can start planning various trips for next year which are currently just that bit too time-consuming to make them worthwhile at present.
